REGION 14 INDIAN CREEK/MINERAL MOUNTAIN This region can be entered from two places. At Avery take the Sheep Ranch Road 1.1 miles to Timber Trails, region 14 starts just beyond Timber Trails. (Do not do T.T. as that is in region 8.) You can also start at Murphys, taking the Sheep Rand Road approximately 3.4 miles to the first corner of Fullen and Sheep Ranch Road. (You can actually start counting birds 1.5 miles from Stevenot Winery on Sheep Ranch Road. Fullen and Sheep Ranch Roads make a circle of approximately 2 miles each way, bird Fullen road and then take the road to Sheep Ranch on the other way. Walking around the Indian Creek area might be productive. At the Avery end of this circle if you continue .3-.5 miles (towards Avery) you will come to open meadows at the crest of the hill and this area might be good. Then turn around and go back towards Sheep Ranch. (Note that the street sign at this corner of Fullen and S.R. does not match all maps.) Head toward Sheep Ranch stopping to bird along the way including Mineral Mtn. Estates (or you can bird Mineral Mtn Estates on the way back to Murphys from Sheep Ranch). Stop at the Sheep Ranch Town Entrance (at the corner of Armstrong and Sheep Ranch Road). Do not bird "downtown" Sheep Ranch as it is in Region 10.
