REGION 4 FOREST MEADOW Starts in Avery just below point Moran Road meets Highway 4 continues on down Highway 4 to the "East" side of Utica Power House Dam. Includes all area on the "South" side of Highway 4 to the River. Includes Canyon View Ranch, Hunter Reservoir, Sunrise Point, Ponderosa Park, Indian Hills, Forest Meadows. Candy Rock (Hunter Reservoir) is well worth a look even if you have to walk instead of drive. 4-Wheel drive is needed for many roads off Highway 4 if it is snowy or icy. Rough terrain and lack of many access roads will limit total coverage of area unless someone is willing to walk long distances. Forest Meadows development has especially good bird areas. If there are enough participants for two or more parties in this region one party could spend most of the day in the Forest Meadow area. Another good area is to take Darby Road (just below the Red Apple) and drive and park and walk all along the roads in that area. Tonapah Road is especially good. Utica Power House Road is also a good area to Bird. Park at the old mill and walk. Do this whole road from one end of Highway 4 to the other end which is also Highway 4. Do not do the Dam road on the west side of the dam as that is region 5. Birds in and over the dam belong to region 5.
